Expertise: My primary interest is in the causes of modern economic growth. The overarching interest in modern economic growth is expressed in empirical economic history, where I am concerned with all aspects of development, and in the history of ideas, where I am interested in explanations of modern economic growth at the aggregate level and the role of the entrepreneur at the microeconomic level.
