Her research interests include entrepreneurship, small business issues, and teams. She takes students on international trips and has participated in projects with the consortium for Global Education of which she is a member of the Board of Directors. Prior to her academic career, Barbara held various management positions with AT&T/Southwestern Bell and worked for an international consulting firm. In addition, she co-owned a restaurant and small agricultural implement manufacturing company.
