Her research interests follow the areas in which she teaches including auditing, accounting and internal controls often focusing on issues related to small businesses, ethics and educational issues. She has published in the Journal of Accountancy, CPA Focus, Business Studies Journal, Taxes—The Tax Magazine , Journal of International Academy for Cast Studies and others. By invitation from ACT, Dr. Hrncir has written ethics questions and served as an ad hoc reviewer and editor of financial accounting questions used for the CPA Exam.
