Wubneh's research interests lie broadly in two domains. The first line of work examines the role external influences (e.g. regulators, financial analysts, or third party evaluators) on firm adaptability to changes in technology, and the impact on innovation trajectories. In the second line of work, looking at firms shift and pace among innovation modes that must be pursued for longer term organizational performance. His teaching interests and expertise focuses on entrepreneurship, innovation, and technology strategy, particularly in contexts where institutions are salient. He also has expertise and an emphasis on healthcare settings such as pharmaceuticals and the economics of healthcare.
