Dr. Fuller's research is concerned with businesses serving or operating within disinvested communities. She applies traditional theory to overlooked contexts. As a McLarty Fellow and Houston Museum of African American Culture Fellow, Dr. Fuller consulted with women entrepreneurs in Ghana and researched businesses operating in inner city neighborhoods in Houston, TX, respectively. The PhD Project nicknamed her "Dr. Cinco" after her dissertation defense marked a quintupling of the number of underrepresented ethnic minority professors in the U.S. since the organization's founding in 1994.
