Position Overview
Online section leaders work directly with and for the faculty member who is the instructor of record. Consequently, they are not responsible for the determination of the structure of the course, nor setting course coverage, nor the preparation of course material. Online Section Leaders are part-time, temporary, non-tenure-track members of the faculty. FTE is determined by course load.
Instructional areas may include: Accounting, Information Systems, Finance, Statistics, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Human Resources, Management, Marketing, Business Law, Ethics, International Business, Strategic Management, and Leadership. Applicants should indicate preference for instructional area in cover letter and complete supplemental question section of application.
Applications will be reviewed and placed in a pool to be considered for teaching positions as needed. Applications will be accepted throughout the year. Appointments are one semester, renewable, subject to review and funding. The successful candidate must have appropriate authorization to work in the U.S. before employment begins. Any employment with the University of Kansas is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check.
Job Description
100%- Support the instructor of record for online course by proving a variety of duties, examples include:
- Monitor and facilitate on-line discussions
- Answer student’s emails and questions
- Evaluate and grade papers and tests
Required Qualifications
Successful completion of graduate business or management coursework in the relevant teaching discipline or minimum two years professional experience in the relevant field.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in relevant teaching discipline.
- Demonstrated excellence of professional experience in the relevant field.
- Experience with online instruction.
