A Level-E academic at Monash University Malaysia's School of Business is expected to take on significant leadership roles, fostering excellence in research, professional activities, and policy development across academic disciplines, the school, the university, and the broader community. We are specifically seeking an experienced researcher who will spearhead advanced research initiatives, aligning with and furthering the school's strategic research clusters: Sustainable Business examines integrating sustainable practices for mankind's survival, focusing on clean energy and climate action; Digital Transformation explores the impact of digital technologies on businesses and societies; Thriving Communities seeks innovative solutions for societal transformation, particularly for marginalised groups.

Experienced researchers in entrepreneurship and innovation, consumer behaviour and marketing, environmental, social and governance reporting, and financial technology and technology applications in business will be preferred. The candidate should exhibit a profound capability to generate impactful research, particularly in one or more of the above key areas, and to forge strong partnerships with industry and the community to enhance the application and relevance of our research efforts. This role is critical in elevating the School of Business's commitment to addressing contemporary business challenges, contributing significantly to our mission of fostering an environment of academic and practical excellence through targeted, meaningful research endeavours.

The successful candidate will be appointed to one of the seven departments that best matches their expertise.

Reporting Line: The position reports to the respective Head of Department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Conduct world-class research, maintaining an active record of high-quality publications in top-tier journals, securing international grants, and supervising PhD students.
2. Lead the development and implementation of a research strategy for the School, ensuring alignment with the research priorities of Monash University Malaysia, particularly in the areas of Sustainable Business, Digital Transformation, and Thriving Communities.
3. Develop and sustain strong international collaborations with other universities, government bodies, industry, and civil society to drive research impact and innovation.
4. Secure funding from international sources to support research projects that align with the School’s strategic priorities, emphasising sustainable business practices, digital transformation impacts, and solutions for thriving communities.
5. Enhance the School’s international research profile by leading and participating in research consortia, delivering keynote speeches at international conferences, and serving on editorial boards of prestigious academic journals.
6. Play an active leadership role in fostering a culture of research excellence within the School, mentoring early-career researchers and faculty members in grant writing, research publication, and engagement with global research networks.
7. Engage with industry and community partners to translate research findings into practical applications, thereby contributing to societal and economic well-being.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
1. A doctoral qualification (PhD) or equivalent qualification.
2. An outstanding research record, evidenced by publications in top-tier journals, successful acquisition of international grants, and effective PhD supervision.
3. Demonstrated research leadership, including generating significant research income from international sources, leading major research projects aligned with the School’s focus areas, and building effective research teams.
4. Proven track record of fostering international collaborations and partnerships that enhance the School’s research impact and visibility.
5. Exceptional ability to mentor and develop research talent, promoting a culture of excellence and innovation within the School.
6. Strong capabilities in engaging with external entities at the international level to advance research and application in sustainable business, digital transformation, and community well-being.
